Polarized SuperThin Glass | Born in Hawaii

Second Reef is the outer break at Banzai Pipeline, and nobody rode it until the 1960s. The frame takes its shape from that decade: a navigator, squared off at the corners rather than drawn out to a teardrop.

It is a deliberately mixed build. The front is stainless steel with a tapered double bridge; the temples are acetate, which keeps metal off the sides of your head. Lenses are SuperThin Glass. At a 59mm eye, 17mm bridge and 50mm of lens height it is one of the larger frames Maui Jim makes — they list the fit as extra large.

Three colorways, each shipping with its own tint: Satin Black with Neutral Grey, Brushed Dark Gunmetal with Blue Hawaii, and Brushed Chocolate with HCL Bronze. Prescription lenses can be added on this page. Maui Jim lists 2nd Reef for powers from +3.00 to -4.50 in most lens materials and further again in the high-index Evolution 1.67, and the builder below checks your numbers against the frame before anything is charged.
